We bought a new Samsung 42" Plasma TV HP-T4264 just before the new year from Vann's. I have noticed quick distorted series of horizontal lines in the mid to upper 3/4ths of the screen in regular DVD playback. Looks like an image that went through a paper shreader. If I run on slow motion playback - no lines. Now, my wife does not see them - they are very quick, but I still see them. I have also tried the same DVD's through an XBox and still see them in about the same areas. We are using the common rca yellow video and red/white jacks hooked up by monster video/audio cables. I have double checked the cables. The regular DVDs are not scratched and I never had any visual playback problems until running through this plasma TV.
I tend to see them more in regular widescreen DVD's that have been ZOOM1 & ZOOM 2 to get rid of the upper and lower black bars (avoiding burn-in). I am suspicious that there is a problem because of the consistency of the lines and were they are appearing in the screen. This was a large investment and moving this tv risks cosmetic damage. Also, I'd hate to find out that something is going wrong and took no action. I'd like to try other options before bringing a tech in. Does any other Samsung owners have any advice or should a warranty repair ticket be placed with Samsung?
Thanks,
Norm
