I posted this on the LCD forum, but I wonder if this is the better place for a Plasma vs. LCD type discussion. In particular (copied from LCD forum, sorry):

I stopped by a local distributor for something unrelated. One of the guys there enthusiastically demo'd an LG Opus model lcd tv using Pirates Carrib from a denon 2500 blu ray.

I am a custom pro and have been to zillions of infocom. nsca, cedia shows but not in last 2 years. Am I being tricked by lack of others next to it to compare? It was astounding. I've never seen such color (vivid when vivid, natural beyond belief with nature, and 3d depth...). Is it the denon? The opus? the combo?

I just installed 4 pioneer Kuros of various sizes and my memory makes me think black might be blacker with pio, but overall impression was that the opus blew the pio's away.

Anyone else seen this? I'm baffled. Am I not the discerning guru I thought I was? I see almost no raves on any sites and no reviews in the usual places.
