I recetly purchased this model and would like to know what the best settings are and if there is a break-in period I should follow.

By best settings ... are you talking about most close to accurate or just something that looks good to your eyes ... (whatever that means)?

If accuracy is the goal ... the Cinema mode in the TV is a good starting point.

Pair that with a test disc ... be it something you buy like DVE or AVIA or Monster ISF ... or something effectively free like the THX optimode found on most THX discs like any star wars dvd.

This should get you closer to image accuracy by improving the white levels and the black levels.

The TV is an LCD ... just watch whatever you want. Set it up now and enjoy. You don't gain anything by watching bad images for a month.
