So i'd like to get rid of my HD DVD and get the Blu-Ray import.

I see the Universal only has the rights to it in the US and Sony is the rest of the world.
What are the chances of us getting an import from somewhere else other than Japan and it being playable in Region A?

it should be released in Spain in march i guess.

is anyone still going to bother getting this if Universal will (probably) be releasing it eventually?

If you already have the HD-DVD, is it that important to spend the extra $$$ to get the import when what you have now works perfectly fine? How many times a month do you watch the movie? :)

For example Unleashed will share the HD master used in the French release.

Really? That's good to know. Although EB and the other titles you mention aren't on my must have list. What's the SD-DVD comparison in the link supposed to show?

The comparison shows the difference between various editions of Unleashed on SD DVD. The French version has the best PQ and SQ as it is encoded from a different source.

Oh. Well I wouldn't make any HD-DVD or BD jugdements based on SD-DVD DVDs. The French version has a higher bit rate to allow more detail. Seeing the 2 HDM discs compared would be much better.

so on Danny the Dog we have:
VC-1 vs. AVC (i prefer AVC, but that just for me)
DD+ vs. TrueHD (ahem, clear winner)
plus bonuses that only on combo edition that hard to find now

same for Erin Brokovich.

amazon co.jp says that they will ship me Danny The Dog, Transporters, u571 tomorrow.

erin will be released only in april.

Erin is being released in Spain next month (with a cheaper price) as well as France later on in the year. If you can wait, methinks you're better off.

maybe the price is cheaper, but for me zonadvd wants 60 euro for shipping for 1-4 items.
but maximum that i want from spain is Erin & Las 13 Rosas.
even japanese edition in final looks cheaper for me )))
