View Full Version : WestWoods Theater complete...thank you Geoff 02-10-08, 11:21 PM A big thanks to everyone for all the inspiration in helping me design what I think is a great place to spend many evenings with friends and family. hope you like Geoff W00lly 02-10-08, 11:25 PM Geoff Nice job man looks like a great space to hang out :) you should insert your images so they just show up in your post R Harkness 02-10-08, 11:39 PM Wow, that looks fantastic. Very neat while also looking inviting. Beautiful storage. BTW, which Carada screen material do you use and what do you think of the Carada screen? Geoff 02-10-08, 11:48 PM Thanks guys. It's the percision series and is my second one. I think it's fantastic but I'm not sure how it would do against others. 1080p looks as good as any theater I've been to and the concessions are better too. :) Geoff 02-11-08, 12:05 AM http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0250-1.jpg Geoff 02-11-08, 12:09 AM Thanks Woolly http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0292.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0255-1.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0267-1.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0271.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0243-1.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0237.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0228.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0222.jpg http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0219-1.jpg GPowers 02-11-08, 12:10 AM Like the preview screen in the hallway. Verrot 02-11-08, 02:56 AM VERY NICE!!! One of my new fav's!;) jayteez 02-11-08, 03:01 AM looks great..congrats. travis4710 02-11-08, 07:43 AM Very Nice! StuJac 02-11-08, 07:49 AM Great job. Geoff 02-11-08, 08:41 AM Thanks guys. We moved into our new home in the middle of October and started with the unfinished basement the 1st week of December. We had a deadline of the Super Bowl and made it. Carpet was layed up until 8pm ,the friday before which gave me 1 1/2 days to hook everything up. Done....now what ?? ;) BIGmouthinDC 02-11-08, 08:57 AM Fantastic!!...just one suggestion. I would get a piece of black Fidelio velvet and cut it to the exact size of the top of that speaker below the middle of the screen. Just lay it in place. I was immediately distracted by the reflection from an otherwise PERFECT room. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg281/GeoffW_photos/DSC_0243-1.jpg rsprance 02-11-08, 09:02 AM Dude you did a beautiful job! Very classy, very clean. You should be proud of how great this looks. Enjoy! Geoff 02-11-08, 09:02 AM re:black Fidelio velvet. bang on infact there is piece around here somewhere from the old house but since the move I can't find anything . But you're right, it drives me nuts too. cheers kriscad 02-11-08, 01:01 PM very nice! love the carpet, trim and lighting! great job! fillydee 02-11-08, 01:07 PM Agreed, very nice room. GPowers 02-11-08, 01:20 PM Done....now what ?? ;) I'm sure you will think of something. It seams like I'm alway buying something for the theater. Last year it was the LG combo HD player. That required an additional source card for the NEC switch and some of Doug's time to converge the projector. Then there were the updates to the control system to make operation of the theater a one button affair. This year I'm looking at replacing the Sony receiver with a Denon 3808. Then there are the lights to accent the screen, soundproofing the door, the star ceiling etc ...... And it goes on and on. There is always something to add, change or upgrade in the theater. jjmj427 02-11-08, 01:22 PM Nice job on your room! Very well laid out! ;) Congrats, JJ W00lly 02-11-08, 03:22 PM Geoff Enjoy the room for now. Then you can start tweaking it later. next I can see wall sound treatments. You could find some colored fabric to make panels or some with a pattern to look like wall art here are a few I like :) SWithey's wall panels http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=620108&page=85 Toms sleek black panels http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=739342 bigger Subs up front DIY of course ;) http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_21&products_id=37 Movie posters http://www.allposters.com/gallery.asp?CID=C0DD9822D0D54E668C86D654D6F1C820 http://www.hollywoodgalleries.net/movieposters.html finishingtouchcu 02-11-08, 05:11 PM Beautiful !!!!
