I am getting ready to start building my riser and was wondering what I need to consider as far as pre-wiring it? Do I just need electrical for lights and buttkicker?

Putting in an extra piece of conduit is always a good idea... just in case you want to add something in the future. Some folks put in extra hookups for video games, computer video, etc. Others put in a electrical outlet for running a sweeper or whatever.

travis4710,

I'm building my riser as we speak. It includes 2 - 120v, 20 amp circuits for 8 outlets (2 - 2gang boxes), HDMI, component, composite and s-video inputs. I'm also installing three runs of 12 gauge speaker wire for the buttkickers in the front row. I want to cover all of the bases - cables are cheap from Monoprice...

Good luck.

Dave

Wireless is pretty common these days, but my last riser had a run for 2 USB ports built in. I figured that way I could plug a keyboard and mouse in to the front of the riser (joysticks too) if I needed access to PC peripherals.

It's my understanding that USB runs are limited to 20 feet or so. Do you have a way to work a hub in between your rack and the termination points?
