Looking for 1080P consumer camcorder. I don't know whether 1920x1080 is 1080P or not. Which one is real 1080?

Most manufactures have camcorders that do 1080p at 24 fps. No consumer camcorders do 1080p at 60 fps that I know of.

JVC just announced a couple of cameras that output at 1080p 60 fps. But "output" is the key work in the press release. I am not sure what they record at, but they most likely upscale it to 1080p/60 for output.

If you want a camcorder that records to 1920x1080 that does 24p, you could choose either the Panasonic SD9, Canon HF100 or the HF10 but if you want 30p, you’re left with either the Canon HF100 or the HF10.

JVC’s newest camcorders only records to 1920x1080 60i.
