I've seen many people on here running over 1000 watts to their subs and was wondering if 240 would be good enough for my application. My room is 12 X 10 and I want it so when I'm watching biker boys or other racing movies I can feel the engine sound in my chest and such. I have a 5ft. tall sonotube by 18in. wide and am going to be cutting it in half for 2 12's, or just leaving it for 1 15".

Depends entirely on the driver, the alignment and your goals.
Why didn't you put this in the DIY section?

Wattage doesn't determine how much "feel" you will experience in a film. Wattage in conjunction with the enclosure size and the drivers own sensitivity (among other things) will determine if the subwoofer is good enough in your application.
If you cut your enclosure in half then your power demands are going to go up. A lot. In this case, however, more power is not necessarily a good thing.
Is your sonotube ported or sealed ? Bass that is felt in the chest and what one perceives as "slam" is usually higher up in the bass range, between around 60 hz-100 hz at very high output levels. Just make sure the driver you use has reasonably good bandwidth and excellent linearity.
Easier said than done though.
