View Full Version : Arched Ceiling?

I am building a new theater (24x15 feet). The ceiling is currently tall (they just extended existing roof) ... 17 feet arched (I think that is the right word) at the middle coming down to 9" at the front and back. I am wondering if I should have the builder put in a flat ceiling at 9 feet or so.

It actually "feels" better with the current tall ceiling, but I am wondering if the acoustics, or home-theater "feel" will be better with a traditional flat 9" ceiling.

Thoughts?

Thanks!
Jay

I not sure how similar but Cam's Cinema is the first one that came to mind. Might see how he dealt with his ceiling.

I think he meant post # 78 ;). As you can see I am a big fan of curves. I think you will be okay with that arched ceiling. You can always play around with accoustical treatments should the sound quality be an issue.
