In case you're wondering, I consider you a TB (True Believer) if, for example, you think spending $500+ on equipment to "condition" power is well worth it. :)
Ok, quick background...I'm about to re-wire my 2-story house. I've got 4 bedrooms upstairs and my HT/Living Room downstairs. I'm going to make 5 home-runs of 2xRG6 and 2xCat5e (all in one bundled cable) to my master BR close upstairs and pull my 4 RG6 connections from the dish to the splitter which will also be in the closet. (I'm also going to install a 110 panel for the ethernet and connect to a gig hub for networking and pull the phone service in there as well).
My question is...given that the longest run might be 150ft between the splitter and TVs, is it really important that it be pure copper vs. copper clad or even no copper? I will be using HD downstairs and in a couple bedrooms, but I can save about 20% on the wire if I don't go with solid copper core on the RG6. Has anyone run the less expensive wire and gotten bad results? Snow, blurry pics or anything?
