Perhaps someone can help me. I'm looking for a receiver with the ability to assign one sub the sum of the bass from the main five channels, while sending the other sub only the .1 LFE info. I can do this with seperates, but one box would make things better. Any thoughts?

I have not heard of a receiver with that feature. Couldn't you just hook up one sub using the regular sub output (for the LFE stuff) and the other sub using the speaker line level connections?

I could, but that would still have powerful bass in my center and surrounds.

All you need is a Y-adapter, split the LFE into to two lines...

You could run one sub off the main speaker outputs inline with your mains, or you could switch on both A and B mains (assuming your reciever has two sets of main speaker outputs) and run the speaker B outputs to the sub. However, you'd have to set your mains to LARGE, and having your mains off the A outputs and sub off the B outputs would mean a full range signal going to both A and B. So, if you ran one sub off your A speaker outputs and then connected your mains to the that sub's speaker outs, you'd be able to then set your mains to LARGE and send a full range signal to your mains/sub. You could then set your center and surrounds to SMALL, thus directing the bass from your center and surround to your other sub connected via the LFE output.
However, just running a Y adapter off your LFE output and running both subs off that (and set mains/center/surround all to SMALL) might be easier.

The HK AVR-745 has dual sub outputs.
