OK this is getting old quick. POTC AWE I had to turn off the 24 setting on my PS3. That trick didnt work on Mr. Woodcock. How do I get it to play?

Mr. Woodcock played just fine on my PS3.

40 GB updated with latest firmware.

Where is the lockup occuring? Or locking up at all? Try going to the disc in the menu and hit the triangle. Then hit "Play from the Beginning" to see if that helps.

It will show the green rating page then go to the new line hd intro then it just stops, similar to the POTC AWE where it would stop after playing all previews. Sorry if I was un-amused by the post last night as I was a little upset at another disk not playing at the time. How do you check what firmware you have. I have not done any updates but just purchased the unit in January.

I can already tell you that you need the firmware upgrade. If you have a wireless network, connect accordingly, or just hook it up via some ethernet cable and grab the update. It fixes a bunch of things. If you go over to the second column in the menu of the PS3 (where all the settings are) and go up to firmware upgrade, that's how you do it. You can see what firmware you have there or in system information. I'm not in front of my PS3 now, just going off of memory...and it's not that great at the moment! :D

I keep my PS3 up to date and haven't had any issues with any disc I've thrown at it. Hopefully that helps!

I just got Mr Woodcock from Blockbuster online - and my PS3 doesn't even see the disk at all - BD Rom icon doesn't appear on the screen - I've owned my PS3 for more than a year and never seen anything like that. I have the latest firmware, and I've tried other disks just to check - and they all play fine, but not the woodcock movie - i guess it only likes to play with itself
But on a serious note - what a disapointment. now i have to wait for the next available....

Another New Line title, Shoot'em Up did the same thing to me/PS3 60gb, latest firmware. Wouldn't load and doesn't recognize the disc. Also from Blockbuster Online.

Well you will all be glad to know I finally got my Woodcock to play!!!! And thankfully right before Valentines Day!! Seriously though, the update did the trick.
