Hello,

I'm having trouble understanding how to use the individual contrast and brightness controls for red, green and blue on my HC1500.

I think they are used to adjust the gray scale. But how? For example, if the grey looks reddish, should I decrease red contrast or brightness, or both? By how much or up to what point?

Most calibration instructions don't mention the use of individual RGB C/B controls.

Thanks

Frank

Using an instrument to measure the grey scale use the 30 IRE pattern and adjust the RGB brightness controls. Then using a 80IRE pattern adjust the RGB contrast controls. Go back and forth several times until they both read a equal balance oF RGB (as close to 100%).

Thank you eddiscus,

I'm just using the DVE DVD at this point, I don't have a colorimeter yet. How would that apply?

Thanks

Almost next to impossible to do an accurate grey scale with limited experience with out a measuring instrument. You could try an optical comparitor with a calibrated light source.

Here is an old post that may give you an idea or not.
