there's a good chance that I had the hdmi cable come out of the ceiling not sufficiently far from the screen wall, hence I might need an extension so that I can place the pj further back.

Are there issues with using extensions ? apart from aesthetical ones of course.

Any problems will quickly become evident. You'll see "sparklies" or have the picture drop out if the HDMI cable doesn't work.

thx, that is exactly what I heard later today from my main cables source :) I guess it's good news in the sense that I will know pretty much for sure and in case, think of another solution.

I know that for HDMI, 50 feet is generally the longest you can get and have it work reliably. Any longer, and you will need to get a signal booster
