I purchased a URC-RF20 and have programed it to work a TV, STB, DVD recorder and Audio setup, all of this went very smoothly.

I would like to program a second TV and DVD player on Main Page 2. It appears that the SAT, DVR, VCR, etc buttons on page 2 only accept limited codes. Is there a way to change this or do I have to program TV 2 using the "learn" method for every button?

You first pick the device you wish to program, one on the page 2, than it asks from what device you wish the code to come from, here is where you use PAGE key to pick the TV device on the first page. Like so:

1. main and ent
2. P-Pro
3. select either VCR, DVR, or SAT device
4. use the PAGE key and select TV device
5. enter the code for your brand
6. save
7. main
8. main

Similar question: is there a way to reorder the options that appear on a given menu (e.g., putting "Rec" on the first menu under cable)? What I've done so far is renamed and reprogrammed whatever appeared in the spot I want to use with the command I'd like to replace it. Not too much work...just wondering if there is a better way.

Short of renaming and reprogramming the device like you did, sorry no.

I have a RF20 that I spent about a week programming back around mid-October, and finally got to the point where it was just about perfect. Just one problem, though... at the time, I was still in the middle of a major remodeling project, and didn't bother to set up the receiver or surround.

The receiver and speakers are now in place.

I have three main "devices" defined:

SAT: my DirecTV HR-21. Has a bunch of learned codes and mapped keys that control the TV, even though the sat box is the primary device in this mode.

HDDVD: My Toshiba HD-DVD player. Like SAT, has a bunch of punched-through and learned codes that control the TV instead of the player.

TV: rarely used, but exists mainly for rare instances when I'm watching something besides DirecTV or a HD-DVD, or need to adjust some obscure parameter that's not worth punching-through or learning & adding to SAT and/or HDDVD mode.

In all 3 cases, the volume buttons map through to the TV.

WHAT I WANT TO DO:

1. copy the existing SAT and HDDVD devices in their entirety -- learned codes, macros, and all -- to two new devices on the LCD menu: SAT51 and DVD51

2. Modify the two new devices so that their volume controls punch through to my receiver instead of to the TV, then add some more learned keys to the LCD menu for the receiver.

Is there any way to do this? Or do I literally have to define both new devices completely from scratch, and try to somehow figure out what it was that I actually DID back in October to set them up in the first place?

You can not clone one device to another on the same remote, sorry.

Comcast in NJ "upgraded" their signals to require a digital adapter box to received channels beyond the "free TV", such as CNBC, Disney, etc.

It is a simple box (can't be turned off otherwise you'll need to call Comcast to "reactivate" the box) with a basic remote programmable to your TV except the channel stations (# & up/down) which is for the Comcast box.

I can't seem to program the #2, #5 and "Up channel" to my RF20. I tried to have it learn from two different Comcast remotes.

I'll need to try to continously hold down the source remote to program those keys, but short of that, any other possible suggestions?

This is a new RF20, maybe it is faulty? (Also I need to try to program it with a different source to see if it learns those three keys, if so, then it is not faulty but a source issue).
