My Apple ID is my AOL e-mail address. When attempting to rent a movie from ITunes (using Apple TV) I get a message that my AOL account is invalid. Contacted ITunes, they say that this is a problem, but do not have a solution yet. From their response it appears that I am not the only one. Sounds like this wasn't thoroughly tested. Anybody else experience this, and if so, any solution?

No problems here. Interface is really slick. HD rentals look pretty good, but the compression artifacts are noticeable if your looking for them. I've been trying to break it or cause a glitch all afternoon/evening, but it seems pretty rock-solid. The only thing I've noticed that may need correcting (if possible) is that if the internet connection drops during a download--no matter how far along it is--it has to restart from the begining after a connection is re-established. Not a big deal for music, but the HD movie files are fairly large.

Yeah, the HD quality on ATV is better than Xbox Marketplace but slightly worse than Vudu. None will trump HD-DVD/Blu-Ray quality for audio & video though.
same problem here. can't find a solution

If you have an @aol.com email address as your Apple ID, you cannot log onto the iTunes store on the Apple TV. The technician told me it's a bug they did not come across during testing and they're working now trying to resolve it. He said they're not sure if it's on the server side or if it's the v2 firmware.
The technician tried to convert my account as shown in the link (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=307459) That did not work either. The solution for now is to go to http://myinfo.apple.com, log in and change your Apple ID name to something else besides an @aol.com address. I did this and now I can log in.
He said it looks like we'll be getting a 2.0.1 update very soon to resolve the issue.
