So of course the day after I was on the fence about buying the HV20 for $604, the price spikes.. I am wondering if this will come back down or did I just miss the price window? :(

The HV30 will be out Late Feb, Early March, so most retailers will be dumping their HV20 stock (if they haven't already) to make room for the HV30 which is the exact same camera except black and it has 30p recording. Plus, I suspect alot of HV20 owners will be eBaying their camearas and getting a HV30...so if you want a HV20 for cheap just hold on and you will probably be able to find a decent used one for less than $500.

HG10 prices have been steadily climbing recently also, and not by a small amount. Strange. Maybe stock of the older models is dwindling?

Yeah, HV20 prices have been going up now that the HV30 is out, and that really sucks for me. I just missed out on Sears clearancing out their HV20s and I don't think I will be able to find one for under $600 again. :(
