I saw this at the Best Buy today in Houston.
Has anyone compared it to the HD DVD release?
If the sound level has been fixed, it is good enough reason to buy it.

They both have identical video quality but the HD-DVD has a TrueHD track which is significantly better than the standard DD that is on the Blu-ray. Also, if you let the AVR decode the TrueHD track, the proper audio playback level is restored. :D

And if you're willing to import, there is a Japanese Bluy-ray version which has both PCM and TrueHD and uses a much higher bitrate for the video but it goes for around $50. :o

To me the price of admission for the sound was worth it. The PQ seems about identical, but you will love the TrueHD track (and PCM)!
