And how does it sound if your streaming a FLAC file? Im considering the 4130 or 6500 to replace Windows media center and also my CD player/DVD player

I was considering adding a high end DAC to the optical out of the Dvico or similar streamer that would then connect into my Integrated Amp

Thoughts?

Thanks

FLAC is irrelevant to the DAC. The media receiver will convert the input from Ethernet/FLAC to an SPDIF stream (optical or RCA, your choice). The DAC will work with whatever it gets, but obviously if the receiver decodes correctly and presents a clean, jitter free, hifi stream, then the DAC will do a better job.

The quality of the resulting audio will depend on the quality of the DAC. In the audiophile community, RCA connections are preferred over optical. Use a 1.5M digital cable (less reflection interference).
