Hey all,

I have posted this question in 2 different forums and not gotten a response so i though i would open it up.

I have Tvix 4000 right now and have no problems. I was thinking of getting a 6500 for another room and was wondering if anyone had streamed 2 at the smae time. I do notice that when i stream cpu load is very low, though network output is at about 70% on wired connection.

The only problem i see right now is that the 6500 has some issue with NFS and the 4000 will only run on NFS.

Am i going to see network hicups running 2 at the same time?

ok so either this is not a problem or people have not run 2 at the same time?

I do not think there should be a problem. I did have 2 tvixs at one time, but not sure if I ran both at the same (long time ago).
You are seeing 70% network when streaming. Damn....

When I stream a DVD using netshare it barely scratches my bandwith (i'm on a GbLAN).

You intend to use a 4000 and a 6500. As the 4000 "wants" NFS, while the 6500 prefer Samba I see no issues... I do not see any issues with NFS only either.
You might want to look at your network though. 70% sounds high. 70% of 100Mb is 70Mb which is very high even for a BDRip ;). I got those numbers only when I was copying files between PCs when I was on a 100MbLAN.

Have you checked the FAQ at tvix-homepage?

hmm maybe i am reading the meter wrong. Are you familiar with netmeter?

Either your network or your measurement is broken...

utilization should be much lower...

I can easily run 6 DVD's simultaneously off my NAS and the bandwidth limitation is my NAS not the network...

I have a 4100 and a 5000, and have simultaneously streamed HD (high bit rate no less) from a ReadyNAS device. Works no problem.
