Hi, over the last 2 years I have been using DVD Shrink to make ISO image files on my PC hard disk of my DVD collection, these then are played in my living room via a DVICO TVIX M5000 (which is networked with the PC).

All runs fine, indeed I got it working with the help of this forum.

But I have yet to find a media player on the PC itself that will play the files, I have tried Windows Media Player, Power DVD, InterActual Player, and Real Player, none of them play the files.

Its never been an issue before cos I haven't wanted to watch films on my PC, but that is changing and now I would like to be able to watch the ISO file on my PC as well as on the M5000.

Tips anyone?

Thanks

You can mount your DVD's with Daemon Tools and view ISO's on your computer... Daemon Tools is free by the way...

VLC will play a DVD iso directly without mounting it...

This is simple to solve:

1. Download POWER ISO from download.com.
2. After installation, mount ISO's as DVD's. (this basically mounts the ISO as a DVD drive)
3. Watch DVD as if you ahve inserted a DVD into your drive!

Done!

Another vote for Daemon Tools.

mplayer will also play an ISO directly.

However, I normally mount it in Deamon Tools and use PowerDVD. I don't care much for VLC when it comes to DVDs (other stuff yes, but not DVDs).
