I have a LED 56 inch Samsung TV right now but want to dive into the Projector scene. This is pretty new to me and want your guidance.

Now first off i see a lot of people not using screens and just using there walls and the PQ is amazing. If this is true i'd rather spend more on the Projector and just use the wall. My wall is painted a light beige.

I want to project a 100inch picture and i will be sitting 12.5 feet from the picture. My back wall is 14ft from the picture. I need a projector that can be mounted behind me on the wall. Ceiling mount might not work for me. A shelf of some sort behind me would be ideal at picture height.

1080P vs. 720p I guess i don't have a preference just want a good PJ all around.

Can anyone give me any suggestions with the info i have given. It would be greatly appreciated.

Price point: no more then $2000.00 for a PJ

You have a great room for projector use!

Our room is only 13 ft wall-to-wall and our throw distance (lens-to-screen) is just under 12 feet.

Light beige wall could work great - just know that the room must be DARK for a projector to be most effective. Light is the mortal enemy of projection screen performance. Cinema's are dark for a reason and they use projection also.

Okay - Hope you meant 100 inch wide screen - this means most projectors will throw a huge Home Theater image measured by diagonal image size. Our screen is more square that HD rectangular - we like this as it supports most wide screen and square screen aspect ratios without having to move or adjust the projector.

Our projector is on a wall shelf approx. 5 feet high which throws a perfect image both widescreen and square screen with 7 ft. ceiling.

Your budget of $2000 for a projector should get you into Home Theater heaven. Suggest you buy a good up converting dvd player so your collection of standard definition dvd movies will look almost HiDef quality.

Try to find a pj with decent vertical and horizontal lens shift - it is helpful.

Our 56in tv is 1080p and our projector is 720p and we can't see much difference in the image quality through our old tired eyeballs.

No tv available today - in our opinion - can compete with the Home Theater of a front projection system - ENJOY!!
