In a market for a plasma or a LCD. Not sure which way to go yet but one of my choices is LG 50PY3D. I could not find any reviews abut this plasma. Anyone has more info regarding this unitÉ

I would probably go with plasma as LG aren't renowned for good black levels with their LCD's. bottom line is: which looks better for you?

i like that plasma (i sell it). good contrast, deep blacks, good brightness, plenty of connectivity.

i don't like the lg lcd styling much either... looks cheap!

So finally I got the 50PY3D plasma. I still cannot belive I went with plasma but few trips to the store and comaprisons between plasma and LCD, what can I say I was sold. My friends make fun of me, they say plasma what? But then I turn on this beauty and their jaws drop. I am by no means trying to say that this plasma is better they all the other plasmas and LCD up there but it does the trick for me. Even my wife is impressed and she usualy just complaints.
So far I have went through about 40 hours of break in, some of these hours are with a break in DVD, and some are just watching regular content zoomed so that there is no bars, and no channel logos.

Can anyone direct me as to what are good calibration settings? Is it pretty much by eye, or are there some kind of tricks of the trade that I can do to adjust this plasma?

Thank you for posting this. I have always been a fan of LG TVs, but they just don't seem to be very popular around here. I'm not sure why.

You won't find many (if any) good calibration settings for your TV on these forums because of the previously mentioned reason.

Your best bet is a calibration DVD like DVE HD Basics.

Best of luck!

Friend of mine just got a 42" LG plasma (whatever the current model number is), it gets IR as bad as a samsung and PQ is below anything i've ever seen on a plasma IMHO
