I am in a difficult situation. I have been using Analog OTA for the past 5 years and after hearing about the Analog Shut off I went out and bought a digital TV with SDTV not HDTV. I live in the Diablo Valley area in the bay area and I recieve mostly Sacramento stations much better than San Francisco stations on Analog due to the amount of hills. Well I hook up my rabbit ears on the roof that I had been using for almost perfect Analog reception from Sacramento about 35 miles away and I scan for digital stations and I get NOTHING but the Spanish Stations, 14.1, 42.1, 48.1/2, 64.1. And at night I might get 36.1/2 which is English but it drops out so much that it is unwatchable. But on Analog I get with near perfect reception 3, 6, 10, 13, 14, 36, 42, 48, 64 and with resonable to bad 2 ,4 ,5 ,7 ,9 ,11 , 22, 26, 54, 58, 40, 31, 66. I am unable to put a big antenna up, and again im using rabbit ears mounted on a 2x4 on my roof, 35 miles from the Sacramento transmitters, and about 25 miles from the San Francisco transmitters. Antenna web says I should be able to get digital stations: Red: 11.1, 64.1, Violet: 14.1. Is there anything that I can do to get these stations or at least some of them? Also for Cheap?
Why cant you put up a big antenna?

Because I am a teenager and my dad won't let me put up anything more than rabbit ears, I have a bigger antenna, Channel Master Somthing that was up for awhile but my dad made me take it down, I could set it up but the highest I could put it wouldn't be higher than the gutter. So I don't know would that help at all? Im not sure if it even works anymore, I tried hooking it up a few months ago but I didn't get any channels except the spanish stations that I would get with an Indoor Antenna. But I can try again with a different transformer.
i live in walnut creek about 600 ft el. i have a silver sensor (uhf) indoors and receive about 8 sacto digital stations.

I just did some reaserch and found out that most Digital stations broadcast on UHF rather than VHF (3 broadcasts on 35.1). So I was able to take off the UHF part of my bigger antenna that wasn't set up, and I was able to attach it on the 2x4 that my rabbit ears were on and now I get alot more English stations, 3.1/2, 10.1/2, 13.1, 58.1. And Compared to the rest of the Diablo valley Im in a pit with hills all around my house blocking all but Mt. Diablo. But now I'm getting somewhere with digital.
