View Full Version : Do all LCD projectors have filters to clean? Jim McC 02-17-08, 04:55 PM Are there any 1080p LCD projectors without a filter to clean? floridapoolboy 02-17-08, 11:19 PM I'm not sure, but what's the big deal? Buy a replacement filter, and swap it out each month. Clean the old one at your leisure, and it's ready to go next time! eightninesuited 02-18-08, 12:25 AM Who swaps a filter each month? Ideally, you should do it every 250 hours or so. westgate 02-18-08, 12:27 AM my pan. ptl500 filter needs to be cleaned after every 100 hrs of use. no prob!:D and i keep a dust cover over it when not in use. no issues. Jim McC 02-18-08, 03:02 AM I'm just asking a simple question, and none of you guys have answered it. floridapoolboy 02-18-08, 09:37 AM Thats cause it's tough to be up to date on every single LCD projector ever made! Maybe do a search...? eightninesuited 02-18-08, 11:27 AM I'm just asking a simple question, and none of you guys have answered it. Your projector's manual tells you when. Some LCD projectors need cleaning after 1000 hours, according to the manual. Evilboy 02-18-08, 05:42 PM Jim's asked if there are any 1080p LCD PJs with no filters, not when they should be cleaned... Jim, to my knowledge there are currently no LCD PJs with a sealed optical path (in 1080p or otherwise). Without the sealed path the LCD panels are exposed to the cooling airflow and so the air must be run through a filter. Jim McC 02-18-08, 08:19 PM Evilboy, thank you. |
