Sony GVHD700, an interesting sort of portable, high resolution screen, HD video walkman VCR (http://www.sony-asia.com/product/gv-hd700/sku/gv-hd700%2B%2B%2B%2Be32?site=hp_en_AP_i)I'd call it. It has just about every conceivable HD output including HDMI, component and IEEE 1394, but my real question is will it record in HD from my Comcast cablebox's firewire jack like my JVC D-VHS will? That would be great. Anyone know?

Link to owners manual (http://129.33.22.12/release/GVHD700.pdf)didn't seem to imply it would, but didn't say it wouldn't either. Can people generally dub from their Sony HDV camcorders to JVC D-VHS tape via firewire? I think that might answer my question about it being signal compatible with my cablebox's firewire output.

P.S. 7 inch LCD monitors of this quality (480x800x3/RGB) alone from companies like Marshall often cost almost as much as this thing does.
