I started a thread in the HTPC forum, but thought I should put one here as well.

The other thread is here:

Basically, I am looking to replace my Windows HTPC remote with a new remote. It needs to have a green button to go to the main Media Center screen and it needs to have the Live TV, Recorded TV, Play DVD buttons like the MS remote has.

It also needs to be under $200.

I want to be able to turn on/off my Panasonic Plasma TV and my Denon AVR, as well as fully control my HTPC (currently MCE2005 but soon to be Vista).

Anyone know of such a beast?

Thanks!

Nevermind everyone. I was able to get input in the other thread.

I am leaving this one open and putting in the info I received incase anyone else has this question.

The Gyration has the green button and can control up to 3 other devices. It also has the benefit of having a Wii style mouse function, one the best investments in the HTPC so far. http://www.gyration.com/p-68-media-center-universal-remote-control-windows-media-center-compatible.aspx

This one looks wonderful, complete with all the shortcut buttons.

Does it work with the Microsoft IR-USB device? I use the extenders to allow Media Center to control the cable box (so it can change the channel and record when I am not home).

EDIT: I figured out it really does not matter if it does. I can use the RF input for the remote to control the Media Center. The Media Center will use the IR output to control the cable box regardless of the input method.

I use a Harmony 890 to control an HTPC (with the Microsoft IR-USB receiver) and other devices. The 880 (and many other programmable remotes: Harmony and other brands) would work just as well if everything where in the same room. If you want a remote that comes with the Media Center buttons, there are only a few choices. If you are willing to get a remote that can be programmed, you have tons of options. It all depends on what works best for you.
