Hello Everyone,
I recently saved a Dell 3300MP from the trash at work because I think the problem is repairable, but need some advice.
The backstory is that the unit was unplugged before it completely cooled down, started smoking, and was plugged back in so that the fan would kick back on.
It now has what appears to be some *smoke scum* on some part of the optics.

Notice that you can see the text through the part of the image that has darkened. To me, this looks like some internal lens is smoked up, not burned.
What do you think?
I have partially disassembled the unit, but getting to the optics is tricky and didn't want to go any further until I got some advice. The lamp is brand new, and not a source of the problem.
Any advice would be appreciated.
