I've seen this movie plenty of times on regular TV, but tonite was the first time I saw it in HD and I have to say the car chase was even more impressive.

It's on UHD tomorrow afternoon and evening for anyone that missed it.

I did not know about an "edited " version, but it looked like the whole movie was uncut, and uncensored.

What part of the chase are you referring to? I have to watch it again.

You all should get the HD disc, the quality is pretty good and the new re-issue has some good extras. The DVD also has the good extras.

The problem with the car chase is that after you have watched the movie a few times, you notice that they repeat the same stunt scenes several times but from different angles. He races past the same VW Bug at the same hill about 4 times, and he cuts a hard left an loses his front hubcap about 5 times while racing through the streets of SF. It gets kinda fun to try to match the same scene from the 4 - 6 different angles.
