I have a dvdo iscan 50. It has no coaxial inputs. How do I input an ota antenna so that I can process the signal from an antenna and then from the iscan 50 back to the display? Is this even possible? And if so what would be the most effective solution?

No, it doesn't work this way. You need a tuner in between, e.g. a DVR machine or any kind of settop box which takes the antenna signal, decodes the content and outputs the programs via component or hdmi to the VP50.

Besides a satellite receiver or cable box is there any kind of converter that I can buy? And if so what and where?

No, there isn't, since you need a tuner and not just a signal converter.

Several companies make OTA (over the air) ATSC (Digital and HD) Tuners,
Humax HFA100
Samsung DTB-H260F
Heck you can even use DirecTV Receivers with integrated ATSC tuners even if you don't subscribe to their programming. You will just get the OTA channels.
