Thanks for posting this. Will this be in full HD or are they going to use it in 480 with the NFL Network borders to fill the screen?

According to NFL.com it will be in HD.

From press conferences to weigh-ins, the 40-yard dash to the bench press, NFL Network goes live to follow the competition with high definition telecasts. Coverage will incorporate the use of a record 12 cameras, an on-screen graphics panel highlighting workout results, and interviews with participants following drills. In total, NFL Network will provide 26 hours of combine coverage.

Did anyone else notice that they didn't fill the whole screen? Not only was there tons of graphics during the entire presentation, there was empty black space on the bottom and top. Whats up with that??

edit: Now that I think about it, maybe it has something to do with center cutting for the SD viewers?

Overscan Protection. It is just a black graphic covering those areas that are normally not seen. The bottom one is larger because the ticker is usually in that location.

With all the complaining about the NFL Network not being in HD most of the time, it's about time they get praise for doing things right. The combine looks great.

They only used the ticker on day 1 believe, so why not expand the screen a little bit? Also on Day 2, after the coverage was supposed to end, but continued on to show the RB 40's, they had the whole screen filled and almost no graphics (just the word "live" and the player name) at least through a few commercial breaks. Its almost like someone forgot to hit the switch.

They used the ticker each day. It was off it times, but was there for most of every day.

Speaking of NFL Network HD. Why is Total Access never in HD?

Speaking of NFL Network HD. Why is Total Access never in HD?

Total Access is in HD if it is from a remote site. NFL Total Access when in the studio is not HD. The Culver City facility where Total Access is produced is not fully HD yet. All the HD on NFL Network (Live shows and games, and taped programs) are played out from their master control facility in Connecticut.
