haha!

Yes, if only they could find more fans...I might watch a few games if there's nothing on, its raining, and I have nothing else to do... since they are in HD.

I agree and it sure as hell beats the NBA for entertainment

I'll care when the Barnstormers are back in AFL1, which will be the same time I care about the Barnstormers.

I'm not big on the games on TV, just not the same feel. I had season tickets when we had an AF2 team here, live games were an absolute blast.

this thread title is misleading. RSN's carry a lot of Arena Football games, and that has nothing to do with ESPN/ABC showing their 29 games in HD.

Wow all of them are in HD. That's pretty remarkable.

Last year our RSN games were HD for the most part. This is a good thing when we add in ESPN Sports....

Quite a drastic change for ESPN. I remember they only had one game in HD last year and that was the Arena Bowl. So, big props to them. I'm happy to see this, as i've been an Arena fan for more than a decade. It's a joke compared to the NFL or NCAA, but it's still fun to watch.

I'm glad it's FINALLY happening. I've been waiting for this for years! I think it was last year that Arena Bowl was in HD and I could not wait, then after half time, the game went SD. I had to stop watching.

As a former Barnstormer fan I can't imagine a Rattler fan not watching all of Arena Bowl, even if their team isn't in it. Your team has a history of great fans who just love the game. Perhaps it's because you've never had a team moved and existed for so long.

Heres is some info on who ESPN is going to have call these games.

ESPN assembles new AFL commentator lineup

ESPN has assembled a trio of top football analysts and play-by-play commentators for its second season of Arena Football League telecasts in 2008, led by former NFL players Shaun King and Marcellus Wiley, who will expand upon their NFL studio analyst roles, and Ray Bentley, who returns as an analyst. Veteran football and basketball announcer Bob Wischusen, who called Arena Football playoff games in 2007, will serve as the lead play-by play commentator with ESPN voices Dave Pasch and Joe Tessitore also set to call games during the ESPN network’s 29-game national television schedule (including 18 regular-season games), which will be available in high definition.

The new lineup will make its debut when the three-person booth of Wischusen, King and Wiley calls the Dallas Desperados at Georgia Force in a match-up of reigning division champions Saturday, March 1, at 1 p.m. ET on ABC and ABC HD. Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football returns to its regular Monday primetime window two nights later when Pasch and Wiley call the match-up between the defending ArenaBowl champion San Jose SaberCats and Central Division champion Chicago Rush on March 3 at 9 p.m. on ESPN2 and ESPN2 HD.

“This core group of commentators will provide a consistent voice and look for Arena Football games on ESPN this season, and their knowledge of the game -- coupled with the tremendous access the league continues to provide for our cameras and microphones -- will bring fans even closer to the action,” said Jed Drake, senior vice president and executive producer, ESPN remote productions.

All Arena Football League games on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC will be in high definition in 2008, and all games televised on the ESPN networks will also be available on ESPN360.com, ESPN’s signature live sports broadband network. ESPN2 will have 10 weeks of consecutive Monday primetime games beginning Monday, April 14, continuing to establish Monday night as a “football night” for fans.

ESPN’s Arena Football telecasts will continue to feature innovative production elements and other unique enhancements which debuted last season under the direction of ESPN’s Sports Emmy Award-winning Monday Night Football senior coordinating producer Jay Rothman and producer Bryan Ryder. Halftime of AFL games will also include a special edition of SportsCenter, ESPN’s flagship news and information program, hosted by Stan Verrett.

This is great news! Arena football is definitely best experienced live, and having it in widescreen HD and 5.1 will be as close as many people will ever get to attending a game. Lucky me, I get to watch and also attend arena football games this year! Welcome back, Barnstormers!

and having it in widescreen HD and 5.1 !

On the ESPN family of networks that would be HD and Circle Surround.

Maybe. They promised it would all be in HD last year too. NBC promised it would be in HD the year before that. So, announcements are pretty meaningless.

ESPN never said that all Arena games would be in HD last year.
