I don't know about you but I can't find time to watch what is available now. dcowboy7 02-20-08, 10:05 AM Seems like there has not been an update in a while...What happened to 100 new HD channels by the end of 07? Marcus Carr 02-20-08, 10:08 AM And by their count they have 92. (Your count may vary.) http://directv.com/DTVAPP/index.jsp dtv757 02-20-08, 10:13 AM i think and i could be mistaken D* is missing the following HD channels... LIFETIME MOVIE NET HD-(AVAILABLE ON FiOS) i think D* got in some disagreement with LIFETIME which is why they don't carry this station. MOJO HD-this station is owned by the cable co's TRAVEL CH HD-owned by Cox Com... (no current agreement has been reached) VOOM HD NETWORKS... (??, available to E* subs and Cablevision subs.) and there are probally some FSN's missing as well like STO (sports time ohio) but other than those few stations D* has more HD than anyone... bkozlowski 02-20-08, 11:03 AM They are missing 26 National HD channels that are currently broadcasting: 1. AMC 2. Fuse 3. IFC 4. Limetime Movie 5. Mojo 6. Outdoor Channel2 7. RFD 8. Travel Channel 9. WE 10. Wealth 11. WGN Superstation 12.-26. Voom 15 But who's counting.:D -b cyberock 02-20-08, 11:36 AM they also promised Disney and ABC Family which I don't see available yet. Sparkman87 02-20-08, 11:44 AM they also promised Disney and ABC Family which I don't see available yet. That's not D*'s fault, they aren't broadcasting in HD yet. From 3/15/07: Earlier this month it was MGM announcing plans for their new HDTV channel, now its Disney’s turn. According to Broadcasting & Cable the new HD channels include ESPN News HD (ESPN is owned by Disney), Toon Disney HD, Disney Channel HD, and ABC Family HD. ESPN News HD is scheduled to be launched on DirecTV in early 2008 , with Toon Disney HD, Disney Channel HD and ABC Family HD to follow later in the year. Posty-McPost 02-20-08, 01:18 PM Let's hope Imus' show isn't in HD. Does anyone still watch/listen to that wiry haired cracker? Seriously anyone on D* compaining about lack of HD content should be banned from this site. dtv757 02-20-08, 01:37 PM D* has HBO, Cinemax, Starz, and Showtime east and west HD feeds available. -b o yea they do lol silly me.. i forgot all about them. i got rid of HBO and i have STARZ now.. and i just see it as 5 starz HD channels... forgetting all about there is a WEST feed... any idea when the other HBO HD channels will launch...? But I guess they'll have to start broadcasting HD before I can complain that Dtv isn't carrying it.. For the record they did promise a 100 channels, and then changed their press to "up to", when they realized they weren't going to hit the magic number.. Mark Vidonic 02-20-08, 07:43 PM and there are probally some FSN's missing as well like STO (sports time ohio) Probably? Have you looked to see what's there and what's not? Also, STO is not an FSN regional, they are owned and operated by Cablevision. dcowboy7 02-20-08, 08:30 PM I'd like to see Comedy Central in HD... TexRob 02-20-08, 08:56 PM Is Mojo ever going to be on anything but TWC? How about VOOM? I actually like a decent amount of stuff that Mojo shows. mikemikeb 02-21-08, 12:28 AM Is Mojo ever going to be on anything but TWC?How about most, if not all, Comcast systems? Since Mojo is owned by InDemand, which is owned by a consortium of cable companies, it's unlikely they'll ever offer that channel over non-cable entities. Due to their "all or nothing" demands, VOOM is likely to remain E*-exclusive for a long time. Maybe D* will figure a way to use all of that bandwidth on their soon-to-launch HD satellite... ;) wyattg 02-21-08, 12:54 AM They are missing 26 National HD channels that are currently broadcasting: 1. Due to their "all or nothing" demands, VOOM is likely to remain E*-exclusive for a long time. Maybe D* will figure a way to use all of that bandwidth on their soon-to-launch HD satellite... ;) VOOM in whole sucks, however if D* could just get Worldsport, Rave, Rush and Worldcinema, that would be enough, Rest of the channels are constant repeats with almost nothing new. Mojo is being uplinked by E*, however it is not available to subscribers yet. CKNA 02-21-08, 09:44 AM You are missing WFN.... Outdoor channel2 HD has been uplinked by D* for couple months now. For some reason they have not enabled it yet for subscribers, even though supposedly contract has been signed. Marcus Carr 02-21-08, 09:57 AM You are missing WFN.... Isn't that a Canadian channel? YoungC55 02-21-08, 10:34 AM No good can come out of this conversation... ha. CPanther95 02-21-08, 12:24 PM For the record they did promise a 100 channels, and then changed their press to "up to", when they realized they weren't going to hit the magic number.. Not exactly. When they promised 100 channels by the end of the year, they qualified it by saying that it would likely include NFL ST and other subscription sports feeds. When they switched to "up to" 100 channels they also created a more strict definition of what is included in the count - and NFL ST, MLB EI, etc. are not counted in the total. |
