Anyone know when the BBC archive becomes available for download through iTunes. And what is the highest resolution the content will be offered in?

I think it's UK only, and started yesterday.

Even it was available in the US, I suspect it would be horribly over priced. I think I saw somewhere it'll be close to $4 an episode for something like Torchwood. $4?!?! Seriously?!?! And the DVD for Season 1 costs like $70 (as do the Doctor Who DVDs) from the US Amazon store. I can buy a full 22 episode season of something for a third of what the 12 or so episodes cost from BBC.

Oh, and in case you think you'd get a better deal if you lived in the UK and had already paid the TV tax, no love there either. The DVD is about the same cost (when you convert from pounds to dollars) for folks in the UK.
