Hello,

I'm sure it'd been asked here before, but I just can't find an easy answer by searching the threads.

If I am starting new and trying to get the best HD lineup available, considering the quality and the DVR service (receiver features), what would be the recommended service. It looks like there are just two providers and trying to compare everything, it just gets too confusing.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

As far as channel lineups, I would start here, it provides a rundown of the channel lineups of all the major providers. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=419472
There you can determine what channels are most important to you and pick a provider that way.

Quality is going to differ from cable company to cable company and area to area. Satellite quality has been well covered here, just do a search.

FIOS is pretty much the winner in resolution and bitrate, as to their lineup- I have no info on that.

I have FIOS, and their total # of channels is a bit lacking compared to others, but to me the PQ is superior to any other vendor I have tried, especially the standard def stuff. Supposedly they will be rolling out 100 more HD channels this year, so that should help with quantity. Even though from what I heard, many of those channels don't actually show much HD anyway.
