View Full Version : No more PS3 80GB model available from sonystyle.com? nywst 02-21-08, 02:01 PM what happened? I was ready to buy 80GB model from there..... OceanAve 02-21-08, 02:16 PM nope it's over! nywst 02-21-08, 02:18 PM nope it's over! what do you mean it's over? nywst 02-21-08, 02:52 PM ok, I just google to find out this model is gone soon. blklightning 02-21-08, 02:55 PM ok, I just google to find out this model is gone soon. yep. it's either the 40 is going to become the standard, or sony is about to announce yet another sku in their press conference later today. jrinck 02-21-08, 05:10 PM Probably gonna put a bigger hard drive in, as I can't see why they'd lower it down to be 40 max. My guess is 120GB or something like that. confidenceman 02-21-08, 05:36 PM There are quite a few threads about the "disappearing" 80gigs already. But the way Sony is going about this is different from how they've gone about previous changes to their skus. It's either something totally mundane that they don't feel the need to announce (like a new bundle), or it's something they're sitting on for some big important reason (announcing a new online service to justify a bigger HDD sku). bkchurch 02-21-08, 09:14 PM Expect a new SKU sometime in the coming months bundled with a DS3 instead of a Sixaxis, possibly a bigger HDD, and most importantly no the last remnants of the PS2 hardware stripped from the system meaning no BC until Sony implements full software BC (which they are rumored to do but nothings set in stone yet). Quickett 02-22-08, 10:44 AM Does anyone know if Sonystyle.com charges sales tax on orders? I was thinking of getting a PS3 from the Sonystlye store here, but if the website doesn't charge salestax I will get it there. |
