I am planning on purchasing a new plasma set soon (probably the new Panasonic TH-42PX80U). I have the Sound and Vision home theater set up and test disc. Will that disc give accurate settings results with a plasma display or is there a specific setup disc for plasmas? Thanks for any input.

I'm not familiar with the S&V disk, but the type of TV you have shouldnt' matter at all.

There are some setup disks being reissued in high-def, but I don't think that makes too much difference either for color and brightness configurations.

Any of those calibration discs will get you closer than factory settings. They will not get you 100% correct though. It takes other equipment to do that. Or paying for an isf calibrator. Either way is better than factory.
