Just got my first plasma and had a set up question. I have an older sony DA777ES surround receiver without HDMI input. I am setting up an HD Direct tv DVR and sony NS 77 DVD. I was planning on doing the Directv DVR in HDMI 1 and the sony DVD into HDMI 2 on the Panny and then using optical out from the TV and out from the DVD to go into the Sony Receiver into the respective connections for sound. Is this my best option and also if I use the optical out from the TV do the TV speakers still function normally? Thanks for the help and sorry if I entered this in the wrong forum area.
