My 40 XBR CRT tube died a couple weeks ago with big green blobs and CC is replacing it, the funny thing is the warranty ran out 10 days ago

I have a $1750 with tax credit.

they recomended this one.

but we watch a good bit of 4:3 and dont want to end up with a smaller picture.

So I was thinking in the 46+ range and even thought about the a SXRD 50" with a PS3 or SXRD RP in 60" with adding a couple hundred.

I will need a stand too for the center chan and components.

I am concerned about getting close to CRT Quality, I got this TV because of the calibrated PQ...

Damn I'm gonna have to shell out for another calibration....

Would this go better some where else?

Put about $500 toward that and get the 50" Pioneer plasma. Superb picture, and don't worry that it isn't 1080p. The SXRDs are severely limited to the sweet spot of the screen, and while it's a nice picture, you quickly see the difference when you walk around or stand up. You be the judge of what you like.

No Money will be put into it except for a few bucks if need be.

I have a 92"FP 720P setup,so ultimate size is not required.
