I can't get my motorstorm game to upscale to 1080p on my 1080p set. How can I get it to upscale to 1080p like UT3 and COD4

similar topics have been beaten to death. if the game doensn't support 1080i/p then play it on 720p. The ps3 does not have a hardware scaler.

You really only should be complaining if you have a 480p/1080i ONLY tv :)

Motostorm is a 720P only game. The other games have code written in them that allows them to be scaled to 1080. Plenty of info on this subject...If you have a 1080P native tv that Tv is scaling the 720p the PS3 puts out to 1080p anyway...

To further what kidkit stated, you should consider playing all games at their native resolution, and let the TV handle the upscaling (instead of trying to force the game into 1080p by disabling 720p in the settings). That way the games are rendered at their native and optimal resolution (~1280x720), instead of an odd resolution (e.g. 960x1080) and then scaled horizontally only, possibly introducing a host of unnecessary visual artifacts. Select all of your TVs supported resolutions in the PS3's system settings. Most games will default to their optimum resolution (even if a higher one is available) and let your TV scale it horizontally and vertically.

Don't force games into 1080P, you may get worse than 720P results...
