Thinking of picking up Warhawk for myself (its on sale @ Amazon), but I'd like to know what the gameplay is like, compared to a PC game called Starsiege Tribes 2 (which I have fond memories of)...

Does anyone remember Tribes 2 on the PC? How would Warhawk compare? Is it similar, better, or more or less the same?

Thanks.

It is? Got a link? Pulling up regular price for me. (Target had it for $39.99 w/ headset last week. I was out of town on business and completely forgot to pick it up)

I wouldn't put them in the same class.... Tribes always was team focused (and everything you do in tribes is about the team) where warhawk and almost every other game is its more single player focused. there are team aspects to the games but its nothing on the level of tribes. This is my opinion though.

I was a pretty big tribes player back in the day.... im kinda surprised i havent played a game since that has captured the tribes feel. its still one of the very best shooters ever made.

Jagouar,
If talking about a death match game, I completely agree with you. But for zones, capture the flag, or team death match, I would have to dis-agree as these game modes do require and abundance of team work and strategy to win. The problem is, in some games, you get no chatter and communication and basically hope that the role your playing is helping. If you get with a group of guys that normally play (like the group of avs'ers), it is a much better experience and you quickly learn who is good at what and who should do what. I have no experience with tribes but give Warhawk an A+ rating...

Man tribes use to be so much fun. I think that the games have a pretty diferent feel. And to be honest at first I wasn't to into warhawk. It has grown on me though.

im not saying they dont require any teamwork.... i am saying the teamwork aspect in tribes is far beyond anything in warhawk or most other games. this is also what made sure it was going to speak to a small audience because it had such a steep learning curve.

Yep I'd have to agree with Tribes and teamworking. There has been no game that really comes close to it, in that respect. Not even the Battlefield or Teamfortress series. Plus I miss rocketpack skiing :)

But in saying that Warhawk is a very good game in it's own right, if you want to truely experience teamwork in it, make sure you join a clan, it'll increase your enjoyment 10 fold.
