Hi there,
I have a Denon 3806 receiver and was never really happy with the sound after running the Audessey auto set-up. I had almost no sound coming from my sub. I turned up the bass a little and turned up the volume on the sub, and it sounded OK. Now I would like to do some more accurate fine tuning with the manual EQ. I assume I will need an SPL meter, but am not really sure where to go from there. I have read a little bit about the Room EQ Wizzard, but that looks a little intimidating and would require me to buy a sound card as well.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
Jeremy

Rerun the Audessey auto EQ, then when it's done go back in and set your speakers to Small.

JeremyThe built-in manual EQ is inadequate for room or sub EQ and is grossly lacking compared with Audyssey. Take some time to read the 'official' Audyssey thread for hints and tips for getting it right. It is not as automatic as is often implied.

Easy thing is to not use it.

Edit - at least try with and without - pick the one you liek best

Any link to the "official" Audyssey thread? I tried to search for it and didn't see it.

Thanks.

Applies to most non-trivial tasks.

Also applies to using tools not up to the task. Sometimes it is better not to use a hammer, if what you need is a knife.
