Hello all,

I've been browsing through this forum for about a month now, and before I purchase a camcorder (right now I'm leaning towards the HG10), I thought I'd present my reasons for buying and see if anyone has any feedback.

I currently live in CA right by the water with my wife, but we're moving to the NE in two-three months. I'd like to begin filming all of the great things we see on a daily basis here in SoCal, as well as some upcoming trips we have planned on the West Coast.

I have no experience with camcorders or video editing, but am hoping that I can, over the next 2-3 months, capture a solid amount of footage that can be saved to my computer for later editing. I currently have a AMD 64 X2 3800, 2 gigs of ram, and a Radeon X850.

From what I've described, are there any reasons I shouldn't go with the HG10?
