I've been doing some reading with acoustical treatments from realtraps.com which is real helpful. I'm just really limited with everything that is in my room to possibly do any acoustical treatment to correct any irregularities in my room. I'm not sure how to know if my systems performance is at it's fullest potential right now or if i need to add treatment. I did read over the ETF 5 demo setup which was very interesting. I just didn't want to spend extra money right now for that. I am planning to build a diy sub and there's only one place to put it so i know already i'm going to need a peq to adjust everything accordingly. It may be possible to place treatments doing the mirror trick. I mean, i think my system sounds fine, but until i do anything to contradict that thought like adding treatments or better placement, i won't know. I just wanted to hear your opinion. If it would be easier to help me with this situation i could draw a picture or take pictures of my room.

Right now my fronts form an equilateral triangle, so that's a good start. I sit along the back wall on my bed and i know that doesn't follow the 38% rule but not sure what i can do about that. My fronts are toed in slightly towards me and tilted up a couple inches since my ear level is a little higher than the tweeter, so that helped with imaging i thought. It would just be cool to have a pro's opinion. There is possible a guy at my local stereo shoppe that would help me but i just wanted to see if i could manage this on my own with the help of all of you. Thanks.

I didn't see any specific questions in there, but I can tell you that all rooms benefit from bass traps and first reflection treatment.

Well i know. I mainly was just wondering since my room is so small i don't really have room to play around with setup too much, so i guess there isn't really any befefit with using a mic and software to find best placement based on what readings i get or is there? Where would i put the bass traps? In all the corners on the floor and ceiling? For first reflection, i read some people like treatment on the ceiling and some don't. I mainly just thought the side walls and the rear wall is most important. Fill me in. Thanks.

You don't need to measure a room to know how to treat it. The basics of corner bass trapping and first reflection treatment are universal in all rooms. And don't fall into the mindset I sometimes see, that the room is so small it's not worth bothering to try to make it better. The smaller the room, the more you'll benefit from bass traps and other treatment.

Where would i put the bass traps? In all the corners on the floor and ceiling?

Most rooms have 12 corners, and all of those corners are viable.

For first reflection, i read some people like treatment on the ceiling and some don't.

All reflection points are important to treat. This includes the floor if it's wood or linoleum. In that case throws rugs will help. Again, in a small room all of the reflecting surfaces are close by, which means the reflections are that much stronger than in a larger room.

Ok, my right speaker is pretty close to my right wall so i know panel should go in that area most likely for first reflections. I have a poster there. Would it be ok behind that poster or would the paper interfere? My left speaker is close to my closet door so probably one would have to go there. Also, i have both toed in, but there is a five drawer chest a couple feet in front of my left speaker. With it toed in it is facing me and missing the chest but there might be some reflections there do you think? How do you find the reflection on the back wall? The floors are carpet so i'm ok there. I can do diy so what would you recommend?

As for bass traps. I can also make these. My Klipsch chorus II's are both in corners. I have room to put bass traps in these corners. All of the other corners are taken with the bed and there's a door at the one corner so it would get in the way. Most of the ceiling corners are clear. Thanks for any recommendations. If it would be easier to help me i can post some pictures.

Putting paper in front of an absorber panel is not a good idea. And don't forget the wall-ceiling corners - those are good for bass traps too.
