Oh man, I have a love/hate relationship with this site:). I found a good price on this tv and thought I might replace my current one. Then I go to the owner's thread and read all about bowing, etc. Oh what to do?

My current is the Toshiba RPTV (51H84) approx 4 years old. What say you guys, will replacing it with the HLT5676s be a good idea/improvement.

If you have other models to suggest, I want to keep it 50+ inches for 1200 bucks or less (which REALLY limits my options). I can get the HLT5676s for about this price.

It appears that some Samsung HLT models are now on close out sales since the new models will probably be arriving this spring. Therefore that is an excellent price for a 1080P 56" set and since it meets your budget it is worth getting since the new models will cost more.
