OK, so I had my buddy take me into Costco today to check out their RPTV selection, and while my heart has pretty much been set on the Toshiba 65HM167, it looks like the deals at Costco are so much better than anything else locally I may have to rethink that.

So, here are the options and prices that my local Costco has. If anyone has input on these sets I'd much appreciate it:

1. Toshiba 62" Model 62HM116 - with stand, $1199.97

2. Panasonic 61" PT61CZ with stand (little nicer than the Toshiba stand), $1449.99

3. Mitsubishi 65" WDC657 with nice stand, $1699.99.

Although the sets were set up in a Costco, the Toshiba seemed like it had the best picture to my eyes. However, the Panasonic had a nicer stand, is black (which I prefer), and had a couple cool extras like a SmartCard reader, 5-year lamp warranty, and I believe it had 3 HDMI inputs. Like I said, any help from you folks would be much appreciated!

Also, on the Toshiba, I've been reading that this TV isn't true 1080p? Is that correct?

Toshiba has gotten out of the RPTV business,

Sooo, does that mean I should avoid them? I've read nothing but good things about their RPTVs, but I know a couple folks who have a Panasonic so that's tempting too.

I was planning to go with a Panasonic because of the bulb warranty. Ten no stores carried them...

I bought a Mitsubishi and I love it.

Yes the bulb warranty on the Panasonic is definitely a big factor. But for $1200 that Toshiba is hard to pass up...

get the Mits... WAY better set. BTW... saying the Toshiba set "looked better" when you are in the store, even if you got to spend time adjusting each one, is akin to saying one car looked like it handled better than the other though you have never driven either car. Toshiba's are FAR lower quality in almost every way than Mits. Not opinion, fact. This is how they sold them for FAR less $.

get the Mits and join in on the threads about these sets... there are a few.
