Ok. I have the opportunity to buy a cheap CRT RP HDTV, but the seller says it has a double image and bad color. What is most likely the cause and can I get rid of these issues without an expensive repair. I know my way around a CRT projector pretty well and have dabbled inside of my RPTV CRT before.

Might be, assuming the seller has unsuccessfully attempted standard convergence, some convergence ICs/fuses/resistors are bad, as outlined here (http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/manufacturers-service-support/5600-crt-based-rptv-convergence-repairs.html). Earlier someone here posted a photo series also showing IC replacement steps. -- John
