I have been through some crap and back with my HLP4663W from Samsung which I purchased a few years ago as part of an AVS PowerBuy.
Love the set and am sticking with it till the end so thus far have replaced lamps, realigned the DMD, cleaned, polished, etc.
Last night I noticed that there was some very strange color artifacting somewhat like blotchy reds, cyan, blue etc. They appear only briefly but remain as part of an image long enough to to be too noticable to dismiss.
First thought was Color Wheel - I've been expecting that to go given the age but in this case the set is very very quiet so I doubt it is the Color Wheel.
My fear is it is the DBD Board but I cannot find enough information online to determine the diagnosis. I have the Samsung Service Manual but did not find anything in there.
Any help is appreciated.
