Dish Hopper -> Colored Buttons Remote Codes?-> HTM-MX700

History to now...

I have a HTM MX700 Remote, and have it working in place of the Dish 40.0 remote on a recently installed Dish Networks Hopper...except for the 4 colored buttons. I can put Pronto codes into the remote, and from the DBSTalk forum, mdavej (have seen him here too...thanks mdavej) pointed me to a thread in remote central which listed codes supposedly for the 922, which I am told should work.

However, I am finding none of them to work. So, reading further through the thread, someone said 2 of the codes were wrong even for the 922.

So, now I am in a search for the 4 colored button codes for my HTM remote. Hopefully if I can come up with correct ones for a Pronto ccf file I can make them work for me.

Thanks

I've analyzed the codes, and they are correct. I'm using them in 3 other remotes myself without issue. The 2 in question don't work on the 922 due to a bug in the 922 itself. I can post alternate codes with timings closer to the 722k tomorrow if you want to try them.

I just checked, and the ones posted at RC decode as address 1. And Hopper/Joey only responds to address 1. So they should work. In any case, here are my versions, which are nearly exact copies from a 20.0 remote. If those don't work, then something in the OP's import/programming procedure is amiss.

Code:

Hi mdavej...I presume you are same person as responding to me in the other forum, on DBSTalk. I just responded over there too.

I'll try your codes above and see how it goes. I'll admit I had to refresh myself on the procedure to get them into my remote. If it doesn't work, I'll try the same procedure with another code I am sure works for me, and see if I can figure out what is wrong with my procedure. After that, I'll continue to RMC to try some more Pronto codes.

Thanks so much.

Well, I don't know what to think. I cannot get it to work.

I have verified that my method is correct for importing buttons from CCF files. I am using files for TS1000. In Pronto Edit I created 5 buttons. On one I put in a code for my Onkyo, and it works fine. On the other four, I put in the codes from above for the colored buttons, and none work.

Another method to program my MX-700 is to use the MX Editor for it, and drop the hex code into a HEX box and drop that on the button. I also tested that with an Onkyo Hex code, and it worked fine. It does not for the dcode above.

I do have all other buttons for the Hopper working by pulling form a 722 file.

It seems odd that all IR buttons would work except for the colored ones, so it seems doubtful that it is a problem with the Hopper, but who knows.

I'm stumped too. There are 2 kinds of pronto hex, a long form and a short form. I think we've been dealing with the short form. Maybe your remote needs the long form. None of my software can generate long form. Besides that and using another remote to learn from, I'm out of ideas. I posted details about other remote options in your other thread.
