So the Sharp LC-46D64U now does 2:2 playback of 24fps material. However, only serial numbers beginning with letter C or above (i.e. D, E, etc). The firmware is also designated with the letter S rather than older models which have the letter U.

Aquos support has indicated that this is a hardware upgrade and older sets cannot be upgraded to offer this.

Thanks for the information. What a nightmare. So now one not only needs to look for the correct model number of a display but also they need to make sure they have the correct serial number also. Is this the only Sharp that offers true 1080P/24 refresh rates? Is there any documented information that you could send to me by private messaging regarding this information?
